\u201cI\u2026 I stained my clothes,\u201d she whispered. \u201cI don\u2019t want anyone to see me\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

For a moment, I just stood there, trying to think.<\/p>\n

Then I turned to the flight attendant.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you have a blanket or something? Anything we can use to cover her?\u201d<\/p>\n

She nodded immediately and hurried off.<\/p>\n

I knocked again.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey,\u201d I said softly. \u201cListen to me. This happens. To millions of women. It\u2019s not embarrassing. It\u2019s just new, okay?\u201d<\/p>\n

There was a pause.<\/p>\n

Then a quiet sniffle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m scared\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know,\u201d I said. \u201cBut you\u2019re not alone. I\u2019ve got you. Always.\u201d<\/p>\n

The flight attendant came back with a blanket and a small kit.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere,\u201d she said quietly. \u201cWe\u2019ve got extra supplies too.\u201d<\/p>\n

I thanked her, then passed the blanket through the small gap as my daughter cracked the door open just enough to take it.<\/p>\n

A few minutes later, the door unlocked.<\/p>\n

She stepped out slowly, wrapped in the blanket, eyes red but calmer.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t make a big deal out of it.<\/p>\n

I just stood up, smiled gently, and said, \u201cHey. You did great.\u201d<\/p>\n

She looked at me like she wasn\u2019t sure whether to cry again or laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah,\u201d I said. \u201cFirst time handling something new in the air? That\u2019s pretty impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n

She gave a small, shaky smile.<\/p>\n

We walked back to our seats together.<\/p>\n

As she sat down, she leaned her head on my shoulder.<\/p>\n

I wrapped my arm around her.<\/p>\n
