Prince William<\/a>\u00a0may be the heir apparent, but as far as he’s concerned,\u00a0Princess Kate<\/a>\u00a0is the true royal.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Prince of Wales<\/a>\u00a0opened up about his wife’s resilience\u00a0amid her cancer recovery<\/a>\u00a0in a rare radio interview on\u00a0“Heart Breakfast,”<\/a>\u00a0released Friday, May 22. William’s remarks come a week after\u00a0Kate visited the Italian city of Reggio Emilia for a work trip<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“She’s an amazing mom, an amazing wife and, literally, our family couldn’t cope without her,” William, 43, told hosts Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston. “So, she’s been absolutely stunning, brilliant.”<\/p>\n

In March 2024, Princess Kate and Kensington Palace revealed that the Princess of Wales, then 42, had been\u00a0diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer<\/a>\u00a0following abdominal surgery and was undergoing a “course of preventive chemotherapy treatment.”<\/p>\n

About a year after announcing her diagnosis, Kate shared last January that her cancer was\u00a0officially in remission<\/a>. In a statement at the time, the princess said while she was “looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead,” she acknowledged that “it takes time to adjust to a new normal.”<\/p>\n
